Subject: Temporary Urgency Change for water right Permit 10477 (Application 12842) -- San Joaquin County

This is a message from the State Water Resources Control Board.

On July 30, 2009, North San Joaquin Water Conservation District filed a petition for a temporary urgency change to its water right Permit 10477 (Application 12842).  Permit 10477 allows diversion of water from the Mokelumne River for irrigation, domestic, industrial, municipal and fish and wildlife preservation uses in San Joaquin County.

The District requests to temporarily modify a condition of Permit 10477 that limits the quantity of water that can be diverted to underground storage.  With the petition, the District requests the maximum quantity of water diverted to underground storage be increased from 1,000 acre-feet annually (afa) to 2,000 afa.  With the proposed change, the District will not increase the total amount of water that can be diverted under Permit 10477.  To view project information please visit the Division of Water Rights website at: http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/public_notices/
